Previous Rental. As Mazdas largest and most powerful SUV, the 2018 CX-9 is also one of the industrys most appealing 3-row family crossover SUVs. The CX-9s styling is more seductive than better-known rivals, and its interior is more alluring than some luxury brands. But, its the way the 2018 Mazda CX-9 drives that makes it such a standout, with a light but rigid body and advanced features such as Mazdas G-Vectoring technology that help improve the CX-9s cornering abilitySeating for 7, 6-speed Shiftable Automatic Transmission, 310 ft-lbs. @ 2000 rpm Torque, Cargo Capacity 14.4/71.2 cu.ft.*Engine: 2.5 L Inline 4 CylinderDrive train: All wheel driveTransmission: 6-speed shiftable automaticHorse Power: 227 hp @ 5000 rpmFuel Economy: 20/26 mpg Billy Fuccillo has been in business for over 30 years offering a HHHHUGE selection of vehicles at HHHHUGE savings with on the spot financing for immediate delivery! My model: Grand Touring AWD Quick take: Pros(+) nice exterior/interior (albeit subjective) considerable low-end torque gives more than adequate acceleration with no discernable turbo lag great handling for the class (drives much smaller than its size) MUCH quieter than other Mazdas Heads Up Display (HUD) is pretty cool and safer since you don't have to look around as much at the dashboard or nav-display - even blindspot warnings appear in the HUD) safety package (for GT trim) includes blindspot monitoring, lane-departure warning/assist, adaptive headlights, auto-highbeam, automatic brake support, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control) Fuel-efficient for the class (21/27 - 23 combined EPA) CONS(-) Cargo area is probably amongst worst in class (71 cubic ft vs. Honda Pilot 100 cubic ft) AC does not seem as strong as before no ventilated seats, no heated rear seats, no panoramic roof, no handsfree auto liftgate Not a lot of extra power after 2-3k rpm (but honestly i haven't had to push the engine in those ranges) 6-way power drivers seat adjustment vs. 8-way (height) adjustment in competitors 3rd-row seats are probably only usable for small kids Towing rating is 3500# which is below competitors overall, the cons don't mean that much to me since i only have 2 kids, don't tow, and don't need a ton of cargo but for those who need those things, those might be deal-breakers. personally the steering/handling and interior quality and quiet but comfortable ride are what did me in. so overall i really like the car and think you get a lot of value for the money.

I bought the CX-9 after driving the Pilot, Explorer and the Highlander. For me, I was looking for something practical for our family of 4, but still gave me high class features and finishes. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are some helpful features missing ie. ventilated seats, hands-free rear gate, etc. But I feel for me the exquisite finishes of my Signature model are more important than those few things. It drives smooth, is super-quiet inside and the Machine Gray color option is super 'creamy'. You can't discern the difference between the 4-cylinder turbo and a 6 in a comparitive brand. Also, we got 27mpg on our recent trip, which for this size vehicle I feel is pretty good. I also can't help but notice the heads turn when they see our car (makes me feel like Matthew McConaughey in the Linclon commercials). And to think it was 10k less than some luxury equivalents, makes my wallet happy.
